About Me:

I'm Gary Jordan.  I have been a teacher at the upper elementary and middle school grades for about 23 years.  I love teaching math, science and technology classes at Piner-Olivet Charter School in Santa Rosa, California.  My colleague, Susan Donner, and I have started a Maker Enrichment class at our middle school, and are in the process of creating a Makerspace at our site.  We were participants in the inaugural Maker Certificate Program for educators at Sonoma State University, having received our certificate in Spring 2015. We are thrilled to bring Making to our school and ultimately to our core subject instruction.

Making activities I love to do are:

            Tinkering.

            Woodworking.

            Stained glass projects.

            Electronics design and assembly.

            Restoration of antique electronics.

            Reusing / repurposing / repairing / upcycling.
